How it all began
Indepharm was incorporated in 2008 as a Limited Company, adopting Co-operative structures and principles, in order to support independent pharmacists carrying on business in communities throughout Ireland.
Indepharm was incorporated in 2008 as a Limited Company, adopting Co-operative structures and principles, in order to support independent pharmacists carrying on business in communities throughout Ireland.
Initially, the focus was on using scale advantages to purchase pharmaceutical and other products, as a buying group, as well as sharing knowledge and experience with other Co-op Members. However, the synergies and aspirations of the early Members were such that the scope of the Co-op was extended in 2014, to include the creation of a common ‘Brand’ and, as a consequence, the branding of Members’ retail pharmacies as Haven pharmacies commenced in 2014.
Following a period of successful rebranding and strong growth in Membership, Indepharm focused on developing its IT infrastructure for the future. With efficiencies in purchasing as the key focus of the buying group, IndePharm created its own unique system to maximise those efficiencies and to streamline the ordering process for its members. IndeGo Plus, a revolutionary ordering platform was launched within the Haven Pharmacies in 2019, with a significant positive impact on pharmacy margins. IndePharm recognised the potential for an ordering platform for independent pharmacies in Ireland that would suit the needs of each individual pharmacy and, as a result, IndeGo Plus was launched to the wider pharmacy community in 2020.
